In a decisive move against alleged corruption, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami’s government has suspended Sujeet Kumar Vikas, the Superintending Engineer of Peyjal Nigam in Haldwani. The suspension follows serious allegations of bribery leveled against Vikas.
According to complainant Sanjay Kumar, Vikas allegedly accepted a bribe totaling ₹10 lakh in installments to register a firm. Kumar claims the money was ultimately funneled to a company connected to Vikas’s wife. Despite these accusations, Vikas has yet to offer a public response. The government’s action highlights its commitment to upholding ethical conduct within its ranks, and the suspension is a direct consequence of Vikas’s alleged violation of official conduct rules. This swift action by Shailesh Bagauli, who executed the suspension, sends a clear message regarding the administration’s zero-tolerance policy towards corruption.
