Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has been granted bail by a Jharkhand court in a defamation case stemming from alleged remarks made against Union Home Minister Amit Shah in 2018. The case, filed by Pratap Kumar, centers around a speech Gandhi delivered at a rally in Chaibasa. Kumar alleged that Gandhi’s statements were defamatory in nature.
Gandhi had previously challenged the court order summoning him. The court’s decision to grant bail concludes this particular stage of the legal proceedings.
This development adds another chapter to the ongoing political discourse between the Congress party and the ruling BJP.
